Happy Monday, everyone. We've been waiting for Lexie to wake up and to see how her family will react for weeks. Today we got our answer. Lexie Carver walked out of the DiMera tunnels and into a living room full of people who thought she was gone forever. Abe could barely speak. Theo broke down. And by the end of the episode, Lexie opened her eyes, looked at the man she loves, and said his name. Friday was all about Stefano’s will. Today is all about Lexie. Let's get into it.
Today in Salem

The Mansion Erupts after Lexie’s Entrance
The show opens with a replay of Lexie walking into the Dimera living room from the tunnels. We see the absolute shock on each Dimera’s face. Someone checks Lexie's pulse — it's weak. Theo calls an ambulance. Abe kneels beside her, barely able to speak. "Is it... is it really..." Then the realization hits. Chad confronts EJ: "This is who was in the pod, wasn't it? Answer me, you son of a bitch." EJ confirms it. Abe turns to Theo next — "You knew about this?" Theo can barely get the words out: "I couldn't say anything. We weren't sure she was going to wake up."
Once the ambulance takes Lexie and Abe & Theo leave with her, the arguments erupt. Kristen pumps the brakes first — given the DiMera family's history of imposters and doppelgangers, maybe this isn't really Lexie. Gabi fires back: given the family's equally rich history of bringing people back from the dead, it probably is. Theo begs everyone to stop. "This is my mother, and she's alive."
Tony pivots straight to business, pressing Gabi about her widow claim even as his sister has just been wheeled out. Kristen and Gabi go at each other — Kristen calling her a gold digger, Gabi reminding her she has a sworn statement from Ivan. Kristin is also convinced the whole thing is a trick EJ cooked up to grab more of Stefano's fortune. When Cat arrives and asks what happened, Kristen turns on her, demanding to know what she and her brother know about EJ's lab. Chad steps in and tells Cat to go ahead to the hospital, shielding her from Kristen's interrogation.
EJ's Reckoning
Down in the tunnels, EJ is furious with Rolf. He wanted a carefully controlled and elegant reintroduction, and instead got something out of a zombie film. Rolf isn't concerned with optics — he wants Lexie brought back to the lab immediately for monitoring. EJ has bigger problems.
At the hospital, Kayla corners him. She knew he didn't buy the hospital to help people. He bought it to cover an illegal lab, used his own sister as a guinea pig, and planned to sell his miracle drug on the black market. EJ doesn't flinch. He reminds her of Bo and Versavix — how sometimes you have to break the rules to save someone you love. Then he plays his trump card: he's her boss, and her only job right now is to take care of his sister.
Tony Offers Gabi the Dimera CEO Job
Tony corners Gabi before she leaves the mansion. He doesn't challenge her widow claim — he says he believes her, even if she can't prove it yet. Then he makes his pitch: how would she like to be the next CEO of DiMera? He never expected Johnny to stay on permanently, and Johnny isn't qualified — a filmmaker, not a businessman. Gabi is qualified. She built Gabi Chic, expanded internationally, and she's done this job before. The offer stands, regardless of the estate claim.
Gabi is tempted, but turns him down - for now. She's in love with Philip now, and DiMera is Titan's biggest rival. Tony needles her about the time she bugged Philip's office, but Gabi holds firm. "That was before I fell in love with him."
Kristen and the Dead
In the garden at the mansion, Kristen is unraveling. She hallucinates Sophia standing before her — "You can't come back. You're dead." When Rolf finds her, she calls him Dr. Frankenstein. Rolf tries to sell Lexie's return as cause for celebration, but Kristen sees it differently. Whatever they brought back is only going to bring pain and misery to the people who loved Lexie. "The dead need to stay dead." Coming from the woman who engineered Sophia's disappearance, those words carry extra weight.
Leo Takes the Fall for Cat
EJ wants to know who was in the tunnels before Lexie emerged. Cat freezes, but Leo steps right in — it was him. He was looking for a way into the will reading after being turned down for an invitation. Chad backs him up and defends Leo when EJ threatens him. "He works for me. He was just doing his job." Later, Leo and Cat regroup. Leo says he was happy to take the blame to protect her. Cat tells him she'll need to return the favor.
Meanwhile, Chad has his own conversation with EJ — the one that's been building since the pod was first revealed. "If we ever found Abigail... could you?" EJ's answer is gentle but final: Lexie was preserved shortly after she died. The implication is clear. For Abigail, it's too late.
At the Hospital
At University Hospital, Kayla takes over. Abe and Theo follow close behind. When Kayla asks what happened, Theo tells her — it's his mother. Kayla immediately connects the dots: this is why EJ bought the hospital, and Rolf has to be involved. Theo can't answer her questions. He just found out about all of this himself. Later, Kayla reports that Lexie is stable and asleep, with neurologists running tests. She'll run a DNA comparison as soon as she can.
Meanwhile, Chad pulls Leo aside and shuts him down: not a word about Lexie until they know what's real. Leo agrees, but asks how long Chad has known. A while, Chad admits.
Abe asks Theo if knowing about Lexie is why he stepped down as the CEO of DiMera. Theo confirms — he didn't want Lexie to wake up and find him running the company. "I just wish you had trusted me," Abe replies, giving us a hint into tension that will arise between the father and son.
When Kayla returns with her update, Abe asks the question that's been eating at him: "Is it really Lexie?" Kayla can't say yet — she'll run a DNA comparison as soon as she can. Theo asks about her memory. She didn't recognize him when she first came out of the tunnels. Kayla tells him gently that he's changed quite a bit since the last time his mother saw him. "Will she wake up?" Theo asks. Kayla doesn't know that either, but they're welcome to sit with her. Theo turns to Abe: "You should go, Dad. Go and be with your wife."
Paulina pulls Theo aside and tells him the truth — she knew Lexie was alive. EJ showed her the project weeks ago. As mayor, she could have shut the whole thing down, but she couldn't bring herself to do it. "I could never do that to you and your father." Theo is stunned but understands. Paulina had been caught between her duty and her family, and she chose family.
In Lexie’s Hospital Room
Abe sits alone at Lexie's bedside, holding her hand. "It's been almost fifteen years since we lost you," he tells her. "Looking at you, honey, it's just that no time has ever really passed. Is this really happening?" He takes a breath. "I've held this hand so many times — for comfort, for affection, for courage, and in partnership, and in love. I never thought I'd hold this hand again."
Then Lexie stirs. Her eyes open. She looks at Abe and says his name. "I'm here," he tells her. "I love you, Abe," Lexie says - something Abe never thought he would hear the love of his life say again. Choked up with emotion, Abe says “I love you, too,” as Paulina watches through the window in the door to the hospital room.
My Take
It’s really too bad that Abe had to first see Lexie in a room full of people instead of having a quiet, private reunion. That's a moment you can't get back, and EJ's control-freak instincts would have actually served the family well here.
EJ is going full villain, and he's really becoming Stefano. The nasty way he pulled rank on Kayla — reminding her he's her boss — felt like something his father would have done without blinking.
I love that Tony is offering Gabi the CEO job again. Is Gabi going to run DiMera while Philip runs Titan? That's good story, and exactly the kind of power-couple dynamic that keeps things interesting. Or a great rivalry once they have split.
It's nice to see Kristen genuinely haunted. The Sophia hallucination, the outburst at Rolf — she's rattled in a way we don't often see, and it makes her more compelling.
The EJ/Cat/Chad triangle seems to have officially begun. Cat keeping secrets from Chad while defending EJ, and Chad defending her without knowing the full picture — this is going to get complicated.
I'm liking the Cat and Leo alliance. Leo taking the blame to protect her, Cat acknowledging she owes him one — they're becoming an unexpected but entertaining team.
Chad asks the right question: "If we ever found Abigail..." EJ's answer seems to close the door, but I have a sneaking suspicion that Abigail’s eventual return is somehow tied to this plotline.
Kristen as accidental truthteller is interesting. "The dead need to stay dead" is going to look prophetic if Lexie's return brings the kind of fallout she's predicting.

The Bigger Picture
Abe & Lexie: The Love Story That Won’t Stay Buried

Abe Carver sits at a hospital bedside holding a hand he never thought he'd hold again. He and Lexie were one of daytime television's great love stories — a couple who survived Stefano's schemes, Lexie's affair with Tek Kramer, and years of fallout from her ties to the DiMera family. When she died of a brain tumor in 2012, it was one of the show's most devastating losses. Now she's back. But Abe isn't the same man she left behind — and Paulina Price might have something to say about it.
🧠 Trivia Question
What position did Lexie Carver hold at University Hospital before her death in 2012?

Chief of Staff. Lexie served as the hospital’s top administrator, a role that put her at the center of some of Salem’s biggest medical crises — and more than a few DiMera-related ones. Today she’s back in that same hospital, this time as a patient.
